Launched in 2009, the Women Who Will award recognizes an outstanding New Jersey woman who has truly made a positive impact on the lives of others.
AWCNJ presents this prestigious award each year at its “Moving Forward by Giving Back” breakfast event. In addition to public recognition, awardees receive a beautiful custom-made glass sculpture to commemorate the occasion.
Criteria
- Nominee is in a communications-related field and resides in New Jersey.
- Is an accomplished professional and inspirational role model who actively mentors others.
- Demonstrates outstanding leadership and active commitment to volunteerism.
- Is dedicated to making a significant impact on the lives of women, especially younger women and/or girls in New Jersey.
The award recipient must agree to attend the annual AWCNJ Women Who Will awards breakfast in early June (details TBA).
Nomination Process: Any person can nominate a woman (or women) believed to meet the criteria above.
The deadline for nominations is February 17, 2012.

2009 — Judy Chapman
Judy is founder and editor of Garden State Woman, a publishing and events company, and the founder of the Garden State Woman Education Foundation.
2010 — Jo Ann Dow-Breslin Jo Ann is president of J.D. Communications, and a former employee of PSEG where she served more than 30 years including 13 years as manager of community affairs.
2011 — Brenda Blackmon Brenda is co-anchor of My9 News at WWOR-TV, a four-time Emmy Award winner and a recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Award for Broadcast Excellence. Her many volunteer activities include supporting national efforts to find a cure for Lupus. She is founder of The Kelly Fund for Lupus, Inc. – named for her daughter Kelly, who has Lupus.
